Vairagya

This is a fascinating word in Sanskrit that’s often translated in English as “detachment.” This is a bit of a cheap translation.

I’ve heard it beautifully described as “a result of a cosmic perspective.” If we know and are conscious of our Soul nature (the indestructibility of our consciousness), people’s behavior and our own mistakes are no worries. It’s just part of the play.

As we’re moving through the day today, see if you can release some of your preferences of an outcome. When you walk to get the mail, what if you were just walking and not trying to accomplish something? As you eat your food, try eating not to just get the food in your belly, but what is the experience of eating like? Remember what it was like to drive a car for the first time? Really amazing!

Try out this perspective of presence and innocence and very much enjoy your day!

With Love,

Andrew
